FINAL TALLY - OVER $11,000 raised for the JAPAN Earthquake/Tsunami Tragedy!!

In spite of so many other disasters going on around the world and despite the economic hardship many are enduring here in the US, generous Sushi Land fans and Japan fans joined together from March 11, 2011, the day of the tragedy...until June 8, 2011, to donate over $11,000 at our 12 Marinepolis Sushi Land locations. These donations are being forwarded to the Japan Red Cross Society and will definitely make an impact on the lives of people who continue to recover from this terrible disaster.

Thanks again for having such big hearts and being willing to give to the people of Japan.

To our loyal customers:
Did you know that we've kept the same plate price points of $1.00, $1.50, $2.00 and $3.00, since we opened our first US store in 1991? 20 years ago, this year!!! However, as youfve experienced elsewhere, costs of products have been rising. In fact, the cost of one of our selections (Unagi) has doubled in the past 15 years!

For this reason, on 7/1/11, the price of our Unagi plate will increase to $2.00 (from $1.50). We really hope youfll understand the necessity to raise one item so that at least for now, all other plates can stay the same price. Please continue to enjoy the low prices on our products!

New Sustainable Bamboo Chopsticks
Each year China uses approximately 45 million disposable chopsticks, while Japan uses 25 million. As a result, China, the largest producer and exporter of disposable chopsticks, throws away 25 million fully grown trees Annually. Here at The Pearl Sushi Land, we are introducing new reusable bamboo chopsticks to help reduce our environmental impact. Bamboo is a sustainable material that does not require pesticides or chemicals, and only needs a small amount of water to grow.
